Privacy Policy

Last Updated: February 9, 2026

1. Introduction & Compliance

tryDali ("we," "our," or "the App") is committed to protecting the privacy of students, teachers, and schools. This policy is designed to comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and specifically the Illinois Student Online Personal Protection Act (SOPPA).

2. Data We Collect

To provide our services, we collect the following information via Google Classroom API:

  • Student Information: Full name and school-issued email address.
  • Teacher Information: Name, email address, and classroom metadata.
  • Course Data: We access assignment structures to allow teachers to sync grades back to Google Classroom.

We do not collect or store any biometric data, home addresses, or personal phone numbers.

3. Use of Artificial Intelligence (Gemini 3 Flash)

tryDali uses Google Gemini 3 Flash to assist teachers. The AI helps create and edit activities; the teacher reviews and syncs grades to Google Classroom.

  • No Training: We guarantee that student data processed through our AI features is not used to train the underlying large language models.
  • Teacher-in-the-loop: The AI is an assistant; all final grading decisions are made by the authorized teacher.

4. Data Residency & Security

All data is stored securely on AWS servers located in the United States (West US - Oregon). We use industry-standard AES-256 encryption for data at rest and TLS for data in transit.

5. No Commercial Use

We do not sell student data. We do not use student data for targeted advertising, profiling for non-educational purposes, or any commercial gain beyond the subscription service provided to the teacher/school.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Data is retained only as long as necessary for educational purposes. Schools and Districts may request the immediate deletion of student data at any time by contacting jazuda@gmail.com.
